Foothills Montessori School Camp Sessions

for ages 3 – 11

Summer Camp 2017

The summer program at Foothills Montessori School is 8 weeks of fun and learning for students who have a wide range of interests.

We offer full day camps for children from 3 years old to 11 years old in arts, humanities, sciences, and more! Camps are from 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM or 12:00 PM – 4:00 PM for half day, and from 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM for a full day. Extended day is available from 7:00 AM – 6:00 PM.

Down to Earth

Adventures are waiting for you as we explore our beautiful earth! We’ll take nature walks, make leaf prints, create picnics, observe wildlife, and maybe even do a bit of camping!

Sensory Blast

Rough, smooth, bumpy, lumpy, gooey, slippery, cold, sticky…oh, the sensory overload that awaits! Through games and hands on activities we will have some serious fun. Scented play dough. painting with marbles, and so much more!

Land! Air! Water!

Let’s discover all the wonders of our land, air and water! Creating animal habitats, building car race experiments, and making weather bottles are just a few hands-on activities that will entertain and engage your student’s inquisitive mind!

Let’s build magical ice castles and marshmallow sky scrapers or even invent something new with our imagination!

The Wonderful World of Bugs

Let’s explore the world of bugs together through storytelling, dance, arts and crafts, hands on activities and water play. We will have an unBUGlievable time!

Elementary Themes ( Ages 6 – 11 )

STEAM: Oceans

This week students will travel under the sea and learn all about the ecosystems and animals that live there. Our experiments will help us understand how sharks float, how fish breathe, how echolocation works, and much more!

Agriculture in the Classroom

Children will be introduced to the world of growing, harvesting and understanding all that is involved in the agriculture around us. Exciting, daily hands-on sessions will be an important part of this week!

STEAM: Our Earth

This week is all about the Earth! We will conduct experiments that show how the Earth changes over time. These experiments will help us learn about earthquakes, volcanoes, fossils, weather, and more!

STEAM: Mad Science Week

This week students will become “mad scientists” they will perform chemistry experiments and learn about all things that fiz, and bubble, and bang. Students will get hands on this week with different projects that show how different substances work together!

What’s the Matter?

Children will use their scientist skills to conduct experiments using the three types of matter: solid, liquid and gas. Exploring all that science has to offer will surely create lasting memories for all students.

STEAM: 3..2..1..BUILD!

Students will explore the great world of architecture this week. It will be full of individual challenges for students to meet, as well as large group activities where students will learn about different types of buildings, materials, and structures.

Around the World in 5 Days

Join us as we travel around the world in five days. Each day we will visit and learn about a new culture. We will learn about the people, environment, architecture, and cuisine from five exciting cultures.
