Danna
School Leader
Danna Karlavage has been a dedicated member of the Foothills Montessori School community since 2008. Throughout her years at FMS, she has served in several leadership and instructional roles, including Upper Elementary Lead Teacher, RTI and Curriculum Specialist, Assistant School Leader, and now Head of School. This experience has given her a deep understanding of the school, its students, and the community that makes Foothills so special. Danna earned a master’s degree in curriculum and instruction from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. She holds an Upper Elementary Montessori credential and an AMI Administrator Certificate and has completed advanced literacy training through Teachers College, Columbia University. As both an educator and the parent of two children who attended FMS, Danna is deeply committed to honoring the school’s origin story and preserving the values upon which it was founded. She is devoted to giving back to the community that helped raise her own children while thoughtfully guiding Foothills into its next chapter. Danna is honored to lead a community of talented educators and devoted families who share a commitment to helping children become confident, compassionate, and independent individuals.”
Rebekah
Assistant School Leader
Rebekah began her teaching career at an international school in Jakarta, where she taught for seven years. She joined the FMS community with her two daughters in 2023 as an Upper Elementary Lead Teacher, bringing a wide range of teaching experience and talents. Rebekah holds a bachelor’s degree in education with a minor in music and a master’s degree in curriculum and instruction with a focus on reading instruction. She also spent five years specializing in K-8 STEAM education. After 15 years in the classroom, Rebekah brought her servant-leadership approach to the role of Assistant School Leader at FMS. She loves watching children blossom through meaningful, hands-on learning experiences.
