Summer Camp 2019
The summer program at Foothills Montessori School is 10 weeks of fun and learning for students who have a wide range of interests.
We offer full day camps for children from *3 years old to 11 years old in arts, humanities, sciences, and more! Camps are from 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM or 12:00 PM – 4:00 PM for half day, and from 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM for a full day. Extended care is available from 7:00 AM – 6:00 PM.
*Camps for children aged 3-5 are only open to our current families.

Primary Themes (Ages 3-5)
Week 1 – Shape UP!
Children will explore the shapes around us and find them in our favorite things such as in the car on the way to school, in our lunchbox, on the playground, or even in a book. We will learn that shapes are an early introduction to math and that geometry is the building blocks of our world.
Week 2 – Happy Camper
This week is all about camping and the great outdoors! Campers will learn through storytelling, scavenger hunts, and wilderness inspired hands-on activities.
Week 3 – Express Yourself
Campers are encouraged to look within and use their imaginations during this creative week! We will explore and use various techniques of expression through art, yoga, sensory activities, movement and fantasy play.
Week 4 – Small Wonders
Come join us in this adventure and enjoy learning all about teeny tiny creatures like the soil mite. We will seek and hunt for insects around the yard. During this week, we will have an in-house presentation of other cool invertebrates, like ants!
Week 5 – Little Explorers
Get ready for hands-on science galore. Put your lab coats on and join us as we make new colors, play with textures, boxes, and much more!
Week 6 – Its Party Time
Every day is a party during this exciting camp week! From a cozy pajama party and a cultural fiesta to a fancy red, white and blue tea party and fun in the sun beach party, campers will experience a different celebration each day!
Week 7 – Stories Alive
During this week, we will dive into our favorite storybooks and bring the characters to life. Children will be encouraged to make costumes, create puppets, and to use their imagination to reenact the characters they study.
Week 8 – Artful Antics
Be prepared to get artsy and messy during this week of imaginative visual exploration. Campers will have the opportunity to hone in on their artistic skills during this engaging and expressive week.
Week 9 – Holiday-A-Day
Is the heat of summer making you long for the festive lights of Christmas and the magic of Halloween? This high octane camp will give you the chance to celebrate some of your favorite holidays…all in one week!
Week 10 – Mad Science
Come with us as we dive into the wonderful world of science! Campers will enjoy fun days filled with experiments, slime, and loads of discovery!
Elementary Themes ( Ages 6 – 11 )
Week 1 – Animal Art Adventures
Lions, tigers, and bears…oh my! Venture to the far corners of our planet to study animals and their habitats. Animal prints, sculptures, and moving art are explored in this camp.
Week 2 – Olympics
Team flags, medals and even an Opening Ceremony will kick start this fun-filled and action-packed week! A great mix of activities have been planned – some inspired by actual Olympic events and others that are focused more on teamwork and cooperation.
Week 3 – Sports Mania
Hoops, balls, nets are all the makings of a fast-paced, sports-filled week. Campers will learn new skills and games through solo and team activities!
Week 4 – Mysteries Week
Each day during this week campers will need to solve a different mystery and puzzle. Collect clues and gather information with your team of detectives to help get to the bottom of each daily mystery!
Week 5 – Holiday-A-Day
Is the heat of summer making you long for the festive lights of Christmas and the magic of Halloween? This high octane camp will give you the chance to celebrate some of your favorite holidays…all in one week!
Week 6 – Game Show Showdown
Let’s Make A Deal, Family Feud, and Double Dare are just a sampling of the exciting and thought-provoking games that will challenge campers throughout the week. We will hopefully answer the age-old question, “Are you smarter than a fifth grader?”
Week 7 – Coding Central STEM
Campers will dive into coding as they build games, interactive stories, and more. Each camper will receive personalized instruction and collaborate with friends as they explore the world of coding!
Week 8 – Science Explorers STEM
What sinks? What floats? How does ice melt? Can you make a sugar water rainbow? Campers will learn how substances change, interact, and combine. We will have a ball with some serious “science magic”.
Week 9 – Drama Camp
Campers will experience a wide range of dramatic activities including structured improvisations, mini-scripts, speech training, dramatic movement, scene starters and theater games. At the end of the week, campers will deliver a great performance for families and friends. Don’t miss the fun!
Week 10 – Imagineering
This week is all about letting your imagination run free. Campers will have the freedom to build and use their endless creativity, as we discover just how far our imaginations can take us!
