Let’s Save the Libraries!

Because of the decline in property assessed value and related tax revenues, libraries in the city of Henderson have had to cut staff, hours, programs and materials. Without an increase in the library tax rate, two libraries will have to close completely and further reductions and eliminations will occur.

The proposed annual tax increase of $.02 (2 cents) will help offset the 30 percent loss of library revenue and help keep the libraries open and functioning at their current level.

Tom Fay, Executive Director of the Henderson Libraries (and an FMS parent), will speak about the “Saving the Libraries” tax at the FMS amphitheater on Tuesday, October 2 at 2:45 pm. All FMS parents and their acquaintances are welcome to attend. See you there!
